Can the yeast infection suppository pill cause damage if its not a yeast infection?

I Think I Have A Yeast Infection because i have all the signs except the cottage cheese discharge. I Never Seen My Dr. Cuz i figured since i was with my bf for 8 yrs it cant be any STD SO. I was jsut wondering if i use the suppository if it was damage anything if it turns out to NOt be a yeast infection
