Baby gas or growth spurt or something else?

My son has been miserable since first thing this morning. He has been having constipation problems and gas problems recently but he is normally very happy and content and only occasionally miserable in the evening. On my Dr. advice I gave him a suppository this afternoon and no poop. He's only mildly bloated and not actually passing gas and is wanting to nurse all the time and will sleep right after which is not usual. His cries seem like he's in real pain and it's breaking my heart and I don't know what to do it's now early evening and he has not changed all day. Could this just be a growth spurt? Oh yea, my son is 8 weeks old and had his first needles were 3 days ago, could this be the cause? This is not a regular thing so please no answers telling me this is colic. Thanks!
