Is there a way to fix a wire that's been chewed through by my chinchilla?

The inner metal wiring is coming through the plastic encasing and is really frayed. Leave it to my house beaver to chew through the ONE wire that I actually care about that connects my stereo system to the power. Anyways, any quick fixes? Anywhere I can take it to be fixed?
