Does anyone know where I can get twists (short african american hairstyle)?

I just moved to la from the bay area and cant find a place to get twists. Most of the places I see in the yellowpages look like salons for barbie and ken dolls. Even in the more urban areas I found a few barber shops and a few had a person working there that does twists but I had to call their cell phones and leave messages and so far no calls back. Can someone give me a list of black beauty shops that do this
