Is cyclogest 400 mg twice a day safe?

We are trying to conceive since 6 months.my gynecologist has given me cyclogest 400 mg(progesterone suppositories) to use twice a day.is it safe for me?the doctor didn't do any test or scan before prescribing the medicine.and when i asked she didn't say anything about dosage.she said progesterone will help in balancing the hormone level. i am confused whether i should take this much amount of medicine.for my friend who has done IVF, her doctor has given 200 mg cyclogest suppository twice a day.please tell me the exact day of my cycle to start this medication and the dosage also. please help me as i am confused a lot.
